Vinson & Elkins

Vinson & Elkins’ London office opened in 1971, making our office one of the oldest London offices of any U.S. law firm. Our London lawyers handle disputes (including international arbitration and High Court litigation), energy transactions and projects, finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and tax.

Our firm-wide Africa, Construction, and Project Finance practices are led and co-ordinated from the London office and our London lawyers work closely with our colleagues from all V&E offices worldwide, particularly with those located in the Middle East and Asia.

The London office has particular strength in upstream oil and gas, midstream and downstream energy projects, and global telecoms deals. We have very significant experience of African transactions, and of projects in Central Asia and the Middle East, and in all locations where English law transactions and projects take place. We have a particular focus on the oil and gas, natural resources and power sectors, and the fixed and mobile telecoms industry, advising major corporates, private equity investors, service providers, and financial institutions.

A career with Vinson & Elkins in our London office represents an outstanding opportunity to fulfill your professional ambitions.

Over forty years ago, Vinson & Elkins was one of the first U.S. firms to establish an office in London, and the continuing growth of our London office is a vital part of V&E's overall international strategy. Our long significant experience in London and our Texas roots give us a unique perspective and a rich and friendly culture, which those who have joined us find refreshingly different.

Our strategy for growth in London is simple, yet effective: to build steadily on our strengths and to focus on the long term. We believe that by hiring the best lawyers and giving them every opportunity to develop their practice in a supportive environment, they will flourish, and so will our firm.
