We offer a partner-led service with close partner involvement and supervision, whilst seeking to ensure that the right expert at the right level provides the advice.     JOB SUMMARY The Private Client team in London currently comprises 9 Partners, 10 Senior Associates, 9 Associates and 3 Trainees. The contentious trusts team is part of the wider Private Client team, meaning that they are a specialist and dedicated litigation team.  We are seeking an Associate to join our Private Client team to work specifically in the contentious trusts team.  The clients are usually trustees but also include high net-worth individuals and the work often has a significant offshore or international element.  Specific duties will include: -       Drafting witness statements or affidavits -       Preparing cases for Court either offshore or in the English High Court -       Advising on contentious matters within estates and trust structures such as trustees' duties, disclosure, cross border enforcement or insolvency issues -       Liaising directly with clients, Counsel and other lawyers   This role will suit someone who has good technical expertise in litigation as well as good people skills and project management skills and who is looking to develop their career within a friendly and collegiate team that is widely recognised for its expertise in this area.  We are looking for someone with litigation and trusts experience.       KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE   Candidates must be UK qualified (or have completed the QLTT) and have circa 2-4 years' PQE coming from a recognised firm with a strong private client practice.    The following skills/experience are essential:   ·         Good academics with strong technical ability ·         Conscientious with good attention to detail ·         Litigation experience, ideally from a contentious trusts perspective ·         Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and to develop client relationships. ·         An interest in completing or having completed ACTAPS and the STEP Advanced Certificate in Trust Disputes qualifications would be beneficial, although not essential. ·         Experience of working in litigation offshore would be beneficial but not essential     Salary: Competitive, depending on experience   Working Pattern: The standard Firm working hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday although we ask for flexibility from our employees as necessary to accommodate business needs.
