Shoosmiths

Shoosmiths is a national law firm providing legal services tailored to meet clients’ objectives and goals. The firm has a network of offices including Birmingham, Basingstoke, Edinburgh, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Nottingham, Reading and Southampton.
Shoosmiths’ client-centred approach has defined its achievements for more than 160 years. The firm works with a spectrum of clients, from small businesses and individuals to FTSE 100 corporates – each requiring expert and dedicated attention. The approach which drives Shoosmiths’ service philosophy is that great service is something you do, rather than talk about. The firm has expanded to exploit a ‘service vacuum’ in the legal market, following the expansion of (formerly UK-only) national law firms into international markets. Shoosmiths is seen by its clients as addressing the gap for a service-oriented, client-centred UK law firm, able to deliver year-on-year cost savings to clients on those parts of their legal spend that do not warrant City price tags.
Clients of the firm say they like this approach and the fact that the firm has not lost its personal touch, investing heavily in the relationship interface – something just as important to them as the outstanding professional advice they expect and receive.
Shoosmiths’ twin strengths are its people, and its genuine focus on clients. In both these areas, it has won a string of national awards that enable the firm to punch well above its weight in the legal rankings. Demand from its clients led to its acquisition in 2012 of Edinburgh-based law firm Archibald Campbell & Harley, which is now a fully integrated Shoosmiths office in Scotland.
The firm is the England and Wales representative of the World Services Group, a network of firms in 115 countries. As part of this network, Shoosmiths help its clients’ businesses in global markets.
