EMPLOYMENT LAWYER – BIRMINGHAM

We are currently looking to recruit an Employment Lawyer, to join the Employment Group in our Birmingham office. The role has arisen as a result of the growth in the team and not as a result of somebody leaving. Ideally therefore we would welcome applications from lawyers who have had one years post qualification experience in employment law. We are prepared though to be flexible on PQE level and will consider applications from exceptional NQ lawyers. The team in our Birmingham office is ranked as a leading employment team in Birmingham both by Chambers and Legal 500.

The team's focus is to deliver confident and commercial advice to help its national clients deliver their strategic objectives and to navigate their day to day activities. The team will therefore be looking for an individual who can help provide its clients with commercially acceptable solutions, not merely details of the legal issues. The team's approach has resulted in it developing long term relationships and partnerships with clients, many of whom are household name companies. Any successful candidate would have the opportunity therefore of working with an enviable client base.
The team's focus is on growth and this role has been approved to help drive that. The Birmingham team is a critical part of the growth plans. The role will be focused on providing day to day advice to our clients, supporting on corporate and outsourcing transactions and drawing on the investment in technology providing day to day and tribunal support. In line with the wider firm the team's focus is on growth, we continue to contribute to the firm's development of large national and international relationships with key clients in chosen sectors.
The Candidate Required
The successful candidate will ideally have gained at least 1 years' post qualification experience in a large commercial law practice, building up local market knowledge and contacts and with experience of dealing with day to day helpline support; management of tribunal claims and corporate support including advice on restructuring and transfer of undertakings. Experience of tribunal advocacy and/or an interest in this areas would be advantageous but is not a necessity.
They will have a strong academic background and an outgoing personality. Candidates must be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development. They will be a team player with a strong client focused approach. They will also have excellent communication and organisational skills.
