Asset Management & Investment Funds practice overview:

The role:

We are seeking an experienced legal consultant to work with one of our clients. The consultant will be supporting the in-house client team with day to day legal work including fund formation as well as drafting & negotiating a range of commercial contracts. Working within a collegiate team, the consultant will be able to provide strategic guidance on legal matters and work with minimal supervision.

Specifically, the consultant will be responsible for:

  • The provision and delivery of support for the asset management business
  • Regulatory change projects including counselling the business in relation to optimal conformance solutions
  • Advising on, drafting and amending fund documentation supporting UCITS and AIFs restructures, launches, conversions, mergers, closures, changes of service provider, board appointments (including supporting governance work streams).
  • Interacting with/managing interaction with various EU regulators to support regulatory change projects
  • Managing external counsel in various jurisdictions contributing to projects
  • Support the development of new products for the business Assistance with general queries from the respective business areas
  • General support for the Legal team including on non-fund specific matters
  • Researching and advising on developments in the law

Person specification:

  • At least three years’ post qualification experience and training from a top tier law firm or asset manager
  • Ability to draft, review and amend fund formation documentation
  • Motivated and self-starting – the ability to work autonomously
  • Quick thinking and detail driven
  • Pro-active and process driven
