The Team

The HR Director is responsible for our forward thinking HR team of 19 (providing support on all aspects of HR for the firm).  The team is made up of three sub-teams: HR Operations (Business Partners, Diversity & Inclusion, Reward and Systems), People and Organisational Development and Recruitment and is spread across two locations (London and Manchester). 

The HR Director is a trusted advisor within the senior management team.  You will report to our Managing Partner.

We are looking for a forward thinking HR Director to join the firm as we proceed through an exciting period of growth.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership, management and service delivery of the HR Function, comprising HR Operations and Reward, People and Organisational Development, Recruitment and Diversity & Inclusion. In addition, Legal Support/Secretarial Services.
  • Lead on Partner engagement, headhunting strategy, onboarding, partner well-being and succession planning
  • Development of the HR Strategy and delivery of the HR business plan ensuring both are aligned to the new strategy and support the needs of the firm.
  • Responsible for providing HR support for the partner population, including recruitment, remuneration, performance and the promotion process.
  • Drive innovation in all aspects of advice and service delivery, taking into account best practice and competitor solutions
  • Work with the Managing Partner and the Head of UK HR to ensure that Business Managers and Business Services Directors are actively managing their human resources/optimising their leverage as effectively as possible (to include right-sizing, re-shaping and pro-actively tackling all people-related issues).
  • Drive the firm as an employer of choice internally and externally.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience of managing an HR function within professional services or a law firm environment with a broad span of control
  • Ability to inspire those that they lead
  • An excellent strategic approach to your work, but engaged with a hands on approach
  • Ability to challenge and support senior management in key decisions
  • Proven track record of delivering a people strategy in line with firm objectives
  • Ability to build relationships and trust and influence key stakeholders
  • Proven track record of innovation and thought leadership.
