We are looking for an Associate to join our highly regarded Private Real Estate team at our Cambridge Office. Taylor Vinters has the leading Agriculture and Estates team in East Anglia and is top ranked in both Legal 500 and Chambers and has more leading named individual lawyers than any other team. 
 
The department has specialist expertise in:  agricultural holdings act tenancy work including surrenders and re-grants and restructuring  large, complex and high value farm transactions (in 2016 advising on deals totalling £100m)  succession and tax planning  farming partnerships  horseracing work for some of the leading names in racing  renewable energy developments acting for both landowners and developers  Known by land agents for "getting the deal done"              The team act for a range of leading clients from landed estates to innovative investors and institutions including:  Worldwide landholding USA based charity – Farmland Reserve  Jockey Club group – substantial landholdings and racecourses in Newmarket and across England  A large estate in Cambridgeshire/Suffolk valued approx. £500m (circa 35,000 acres)  8,000 acre family landed estate in Suffolk  G’s Group 
 
Adrian Horwood-Smart is renowned as a "guru on agricultural matters" and the "ultimate trusted adviser".  He is known as "erudite yet highly commercial". Rupert Melville-Ross is well known for "getting the deal done" and specialises in large complex multi-million pound land sales and purchases and Andrew Williamson is known as a calm, straightforward and responsive partner.
 
Your skills, experience and key responsibilities
 
Key to delivering on those qualities is the recruitment of the right people to supplement and complement our existing team.  With a view to increasing our capacity in Cambridge, we are looking for an Associate.  You will be based in our Cambridge office and the successful candidate will be capable of:  working for a wide range of farms and estates clients;  a background which shows strong negotiation and dealing skills, including running deals and transactions on their own;

 
 an understanding not only of the legal requirements needed in commercial transactional deals, but also an understanding of commercial pressures and solutions;  delivering the full range of legal services expected of a an agricultural and estates lawyer – including – drafting, negotiating, project managing;  advising on farm and land sales and purchases including tenancy issues and ;  developing, building and deepening client relationships;  a high attention to detail when drafting and a commercial approach in negotiations.
 
Our ideal candidate is someone who wants a mix of improving the breadth of his or her range of experience whilst taking increasing responsibility and ownership of clients.
