Full time Banking Commercial Property / Real Estate Property Finance

Job Description

Term: Permanent Working hours: Full-time Team: Finance and Investment Location: Newcastle

Our Real Estate team supports some of the industry’s leading names and is rated Band 1 Chambers UK in both the North East, and as National leaders (Outside London). Clients include a wide variety of local and national property investors and operators (both public and private), including clients in the energy, education, and transport sectors, as well as real estate lenders and borrowers.

The Newcastle real estate team now has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Executive to join the firm.

What will you be doing

You will have the opportunity to get involved with a diverse range of work for an enviable client list, predominately consisting of banks, financial institutions, property investors, energy companies, pension funds, and government agencies.  You could see yourself involved with a variety of commercial property sale and purchase transactions and property management transactions (renewal of leases, licences to assign, alter or underlet and title reporting) and there will be plenty of scope for exposure to other teams within the firm (eg tax, construction and planning) to develop a full understanding of the work at hand.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

You will have previous experience from a commercial environment, will be interested in your personal development and (where relevant) committed to working towards a CILEx qualification.

You will have strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, well developed drafting skills and a strong team ethic.  Prioritising work, and the ability to deliver work to meet often challenging deadlines will come naturally to you.  You will be able to demonstrate the ability to develop and nurture relationships with colleagues and clients.  Any experience you have of commercial investment work, and landlord and tenant issues, will give you a distinct advantage.

Last, but by no means least for this unusual role, your IT skills go beyond the usual MS Word, Excel and Outlook.  IT literacy and the ability to adapt to new ways of working are critical, offering an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in the use and development of new IT based ways of working in real estate.

So what makes it so great to work here?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a close-knit and supportive team where you can learn from true leaders in their field and build your experience with access to great quality work and great clients.  Supported by a collegiate approach, and firm wide commitment to career development there are fewer better places to continue your legal career.

Alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you.
