Purpose of role

A fantastic opportunity to join a growing team, advising on premium structured finance and CLO work within a leading international law firm. Dentons is expanding, both internationally and within the UK. Dentons is a challenger law firm, and we're on the way up.

Our US securitisation team is a market leader and our London team are building up a complementary UK structured finance / CLO / securitisation team. This presents fantastic long term opportunities for the right candidates.

The team regularly advises on CLOs, NPL portfolio sales, their warehouse financing and their securitisation refinancing, in the UK and continental Europe. We are proud to have advised on the first UK NPL RMBS since the financial crisis. We also advise on auto ABS, RMBS, CMBS and other ABS and support our leading energy and aviation sectors on capital markets deals using structured finance techniques.

We are part of the firm's Debt Capital Markets team, which covers a broad range of UK and international transactional work including debt capital markets, Islamic finance/sukuk and derivatives. We will encourage you to work with other DCM partners, offering a broad skill set and opportunities to develop. We are looking for high calibreassociates with an enthusiasm for structured finance, CLOs and securitisation. The Practice has experienced significant growth in recent years. This role will offer you an interesting and high profile opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the practice and firm. We would consider both junior, mid-level and senior candidates. The partners are enthusiastic about helping new joiners develop their skills and knowledge, and are willing to invest time and energy in new associates.


The candidate will ideally have experience both of public (term) securitisations, CLOs or of conduit securitisations, acting both for arrangers, CLO managers and for originators. However, failing that we would be interested to hear from candidates who have a genuine interest and enthusiasm for the structured finance sphere.

Required experience, skills and attributes

  • A strong academic background

  • English law legal knowledge
  • Experience of acting for financial institutions in structured finance, securitisation or CLO transactions would be advantageous
  • Takes responsibility for own work and the management of transactions
  • Keen interest in contributing to marketing and business development
  • Strong client skills, with an enthusiasm for maintaining and developing client relationships

Language Capabilities
