Job title: Assistant Paralegal (6 months FTC)

Department: Property Group, London

Hours of Work: Full time 35 hours - 9.30am to 5.30pm


Reporting to: Legal Director/Team Co-ordinator


Job Purpose:

Working as part of a practice group, this role requires that you assist the lawyers and client teams in their provision of legal advice and meeting the business needs of the client. You are expected to provide excellent service at all times, making positive contributions to building the business of the firm. You will be expected to demonstrate your organisational skills and interpersonal skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:


· Document management – collating and checking documents, inputting data onto client management systems and deeds storage

· Working as part of client teams to create and maintain client extranets, title/letting packs, manuals, bibles and monthly reports and acting as a first point of contact for annuity clients on administrative matters

· Undertaking commercial and high level legal research

· Managing due diligence for specific aspects of major transactions (for example, co-ordinating replies to enquiries on portfolio transactions)

· Preparing basic client documents (for example, draft rent review memoranda) in line with protocols

· Co-ordinating internal responses to client audit requests

· Attending client signings for major and/or urgent transactions

· Preparation and processing of files for archiving purposes

· Assist with day to day administrative duties for the lawyer you are reporting to

· Dealing with any additional ad hoc duties that may arise



Person Specification:

· Educated to at least Higher standard or equivalent

· Basic IT skills: Word and Email. Database experience would be an advantage but not essential.
