We are currently looking to recruit a Payments and Financial Products Lawyer from 2-4yrs PQE join our Financial Institutions Group in London.
Our Global Financial Services practice combines over 300 specialist lawyers who work in multi-disciplinary teams where our clients need them.
Within our Global Financial Services practice we have a leading team of payments, products and treasury specialists advising on both the supplier and customer side, transacting on high-profile matters.
Our team advises on a range of issues facing banks and non-banks relating to:
- Bank Ring-fencing
- Payment Systems
- Payment Accounts Directive, Regulation
- Settlement and Clearing systems and their infrastructure
- ATM Networks and Services
- Correspondent and Agency Banking
- Cash Pooling structures and Netting Opinions
- Current Accounts and other Banking Products
- Mobile Payments
Our clients include all of the major clearing banks, retail challenger banks, building societies, the UK's payment scheme companies, credit, debit and pre-paid card issuers, two card schemes, cash processors, cash in transit operators and IT service providers that support payments infrastructure.
The Candidate Required
The ideal candidate will have a background advising banks on financial products and payments related projects. Experience in fintech related projects for banks would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will ideally have gained experience in a City firm or large regional practice, however appropriate experience gained within the Payments team at a large bank would also be well regarded. Key to the role will be a strong knowledge of the payments sector including upcoming market and regulatory developments as they evolve. Candidates must be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development. They will be a team player with a strong client focussed approach and excellent communication and organisational skills.
