The department

The Corporate group comprises M&A, private equity and capital markets lawyers based in our offices in London, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris and Rome. The group provides seamless legal advice to our European and global corporate and financial institution clients on the full range of equity and debt capital markets transactions, M&A transactions and corporate advisory work. Against a backdrop of ever-changing market conditions, our clients benefit from having access to lawyers with a broad base of experience, combined with market-leading expertise in English, US, French, German, Italian and EU law.

  • Providing full secretarial support to the Partner and associates;

  • Providing fast and accurate typing;

  • Entering the Partner and associates’ time;

  • Dealing with clients and professional contacts;

  • Arranging travel and accommodation arrangements;

  • Completing weekly expense reports for the associate;

  • Arranging lunches, conferences and/or video conferences;

  • Keeping the Partner and associates up to date with emails and telephone calls when they are out of the office/ take action where possible;

  • Editing/amending/updating complex word documentation and PowerPoint presentations;

  • Required to be a member of the overtime rotas;

  • Liaising with overtime PAs and Documentation Centre regarding workload for evening and overnight work;

  • Managing the Partner and associates’ diary

  • Undertaking miscellaneous faxing and photocopying when necessary;

  • Maintaining client and firm matter files and deal with relevant “housekeeping” tasks such as archiving;

  • Supporting other secretarial allocations when required.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Experience working within a top legal or professional services firm

  • Exceptional administrative and client contact skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows 2010

  • Advanced knowledge of Word 2010

  • Basic knowledge of PowerPoint

  • Basic knowledge of Excel

  • Outlook (e-mail)

Educational (Academic/Professional/Vocational Qualifications) Required:

  • GCE A level standard (or equivalent) and/or a secretarial/PA recognised qualification
